The Emotional PPE Project

The Emotional PPE Project is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) founded in March 2020. Dr. Saddawi-Konefka co-founded it and serves as its president. It connects healthcare workers with a directory of volunteer licensed therapists, free of charge and confidential. More than 300 therapists across 40 states have provided care to over 2,500 healthcare workers.

Beyond individual care, the organization works on the structural barriers to help-seeking through research and advocacy, which have supported medical-licensing reform in multiple states. The organization received the Edward R. Loveland Memorial Award from the American College of Physicians.

If you're a healthcare worker looking for support, or a therapist who wants to volunteer, the directory is the place to start. For organizational matters, reach the team at contact@emotionalppe.org.
